In the last 25 years and because of numerous economic factors, Light gauge steel framing has caught on across the globe except for in the United States. This is mostly because of availability to cheap lumber and skilled labor. Now that the structural quality of lumber has degraded and the strained lumber supply chain the door has been opened for a superior solution.
Our History
Founders
Modern Structural Systems was founded by a group of construction industry entrepreneurs who saw an opportunity to lower costs and improve the building process for residential up to medium sized commercial buildings. Our research encompassed the latest building materials, construction robotics, 3D CAD detailing, and supply chain management systems, all married with our hands-on practical building experience. The result is the formation of Modern Structural Systems which is dedicated to incremental improvement and lowering of costs for our clients.
Location
With our discovery completed in late 2021 we then progressed to finding the ideal manufacturing and fabrication facility centrally located within one of the top construction growth areas in America. From our factory in Augusta, Georgia we economically deliver cold formed LGS trusses, joists, wall frames, and insulated cladding products. Our factory will deliver directly to contractors in Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and down to Florida. For clients building in other parts of the United States, we have affiliate fabricators we will work with to handle the final step of the process while we handle the coordination of the design and engineering phase.
Transparency & Tracking
Transparency and tracking is the next problem we solved. Because poor planning at many manufacturers had resulted in many traditional wood truss orders being delayed sometimes by many months, we knew this was an additional area in need of a solution. We deployed the leading production, and tracking software available in the marketplace to help ease communications with stakeholders and provide accurate timelines for production. This enhanced communication lowered costs for our clients because having materials on hand at the job site allows the work to continue efficiently, saving time and money.
